The COP28 presidency has announced a partnership with future hosts of the UN Climate Summit to maintain momentum and ensure the implementation of climate action commitments.
Launched in Expo City Dubai, the COP Presidencies Troika will see the UAE join forces with Azerbaijan and Brazil, who will host COP29 and COP30 respectively.
It will work on a "Roadmap to Mission 1.5°C", supported by all 198 parties, focusing on ambitious national contributions, climate finance and accelerated action to keep global warming within 1.5°C.
COP29 in Azerbaijan will focus on establishing a new climate finance goal, while COP30 in Brazil will concentrate on ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) for 2025, in line with the Paris Agreement goals.
