Inspections have been stepped up in Sharjah's commercial establishments to ensure their compliance with the COVID-19 safety protocols.

As many as 35,971 field visits have been carried out by the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) since the beginning of the pandemic.

The highest number of checks were conducted by the Industrial Areas branch (16,061), followed by the Central Region (2,351) and Khor Fakkan (4,145) branches.

Another 2,400 inspections were carried out in Kalba and 1,014 in Dibba Al Hisn.

Khalfan Al Herathi, Director of the Branches Department at SEDD, thanked the business owners for their commitment and keenness to implement the decisions issued by authorities.

He also called on the public to follow the rules and urged them to communicate with the SEDD directly through its website or the number 80080000.
