A restaurant was among 12 establishments pulled up by the Dubai Economy for not complying with the COVID-19 safety regulations.
Taking to Twitter, the authority said the restaurant was shut down while eight establishments were fined for breaching physical distance and face-mask guidelines.
Meanwhile, three shops were warned for not placing enough physical distancing stickers.
A total of 853 businesses were found to have complied fully with the precautionary measures.
The authority has stressed that the inspections are aimed at educating establishments about the importance of complying with the rules, in order to ensure the continuity of their business as well as the safety of their employees and customers.
