Bill Gates praises H.H. Sheikh Mohamed for support in combating diseases

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, for his role in fighting Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) across the world.

Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, also praised Sheikh Mohamed for his commitment as key partner of the Foundation in its efforts to eliminate diseases.

He highlighted the crucial support that the UAE has provided in improving the healthcare sectors in many nations.

During their meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Gates also reviewed their decade-long collaboration and looked at future initiatives.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Sheikh Mohamed said the eradication of river blindness in Niger is a huge milestone in the fight against NTD.

"Through initiatives such as the Reaching The Last Mile Fund, we remain committed to working with our partners to support these crucial global efforts," Sheikh Mohamed wrote.
