A factory in Ajman has been shut down after officials seized counterfeit engine oil worth AED 20 million.

Ajman's Department of Economic Development (DED) found around 100,000 containers were falsely marketed as international brands.

Officials from the Control and Consumer Protection Department have also fined the owners.

Authorities warned that such products pose a safety risk to the consumers and regular inspections are carried out to ensure that products sold comply with international specifications and standards.
