Ajman Police said it arrested 15 people who reportedly committed fraud by impersonating officials and requesting victims to update their bank statements or official documents to steal their money.
Nineteen mobile phones allegedly used in their operation were seized by the authority, according to a social media post by Ajman Police.
The detainees confessed to conducting the crimes, the post added.
Ajman Police urged the public to report any calls requesting personal information, noting that banks and official offices would never do so over the phone.
