A siren test will be conducted around the Barakah nuclear energy plant in Al Dhafra region on Wednesday.

Authorities said people living in the surrounding area may hear the loud alarm but no action is needed.

It's a standard annual exercise, aimed at testing the siren's performance.

The test is scheduled at 10:00 am and the loud sound is expected to last for three minutes, preceded by an audio announcement: "This is a test, this is a test."
