Abu Dhabi National Oil Company's shipping arm ADNOC Logistics and Services has confirmed that its crude oil tankers - "Al Bahyah" and "Mombasa B" - were hit by Iranian missiles while transiting Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.

"ADNOC L&S strongly condemns this attack on civilian shipping and the innocent seafarers serving aboard its vessels," the company said in a statement.

The UAE earlier condemned the attack that occurred in the southern passage of the Strait on Omani territorial waters, killing one crew member and critically injuring eight others. The incident also sparked fires and damaged both vessels.

ADNOC L&S noted it continues to work closely with emergency responders and other stakeholders and will provide updates as it receives more information.

It also extended its deepest condolences to the Indian seafarer who lost his life and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
