Access to funds deters innovation, study finds

Access to funds can be a barrier for innovation in economic development for businesses. That’s according to a survey by the Global Trade Development Week (GTDW), the UAE Ministry of Economy, and global management consultancy A.T. Kearney. 80% of respondents said innovation is crucial to grow their business, whilst 40% directly mentioned access to funds as a massive barrier to develop trade. Andrew Keable, Organiser and Owner of GTDW, says the role of SMEs is important in the economy, particularly in the UAE.
