Abu Dhabi updates border entry rules

Starting December 30, those entering Abu Dhabi from within the UAE will need to show a Green Pass or a PCR test result depending on their vaccination status.

The Al Hosn Green Pass will be mandatory for vaccinated individuals while a negative PCR test with 96-hour validity will be required for those unvaccinated. 

This is in addition to the EDE scanner checks that have already been introduced at border checkpoints to detect potential COVID-19 cases.

The changes were announced by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee on Tuesday as part of efforts to enhance precautionary measures to protect public health.

A negative PCR test will be required every 14 days to maintain the green status on Al Hosn app.
