Abu Dhabi Police warns of dangerous reversing on main roads

Abu Dhabi Police

Abu Dhabi Police has urged drivers not to attempt any dangerous reversing on the road, reminding motorists that violations include fines of more than AED 2000 and over 20 black points.

Footage of traffic accidents caused by dangerous reversing was shared on the social media platform X by the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police in cooperation with the Monitoring and Control Center to raise awareness on the violation.

The authorities warned that sudden stopping and reversing on roads may lead to confusion among approaching drivers from behind and result in dangerous collisions that may cause severe injuries and losses.

The Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols reminded drivers that a fine of AED 500 and four black points are applied for "dangerous reversing".

Another fine of AED 2000 and 23 black points is further imposed for violating Article No. 1, which constitutes driving a vehicle in a manner that threatens the life of the motorist or others. It also includes a 60-day impoundment of light vehicles.
