Abu Dhabi has been ranked the world's safest city for the fifth year in a row, according to the global data website Numbeo's Quality of Life Index 2021.

The UAE capital tops the list of 431 cities for its low crime rate and overall safety score of 88.46.

Sharjah is ranked sixth with an overall score of 83.59, while Dubai (83.44) is seventh on the list.

Doha and Muscat also feature in the top-10, alongside Taipei, Quebec City, Zurich, Munich and Cluj-Napoca.

"Topping 431 cities is a testament to the security and stability Abu Dhabi enjoys," said Major General Staff Pilot Faris Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police.
