Abu Dhabi court secures AED 7.8 million in workers' dues

The Abu Dhabi Labour Court has recovered more than AED 7.8 million in financial entitlements for 948 workers after resolving three collective labour disputes within a three-month period.

The recoveries were achieved through joint efforts between the court, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and the parties involved in enforcement.

Payments were secured through judicial deposits, direct payments and amicable settlements from total claims valued at AED 12.3 million.

A total of 457 workers received their full entitlements, while 491 others received partial payments, with the remaining amounts scheduled through instalment plans to ensure continued collection.

Authorities said the settlement mechanism also enabled workers to remain employed with the companies concerned, helping preserve job stability, support economic activity and maintain business continuity.

The initiative underscores the Abu Dhabi Labour Court's commitment to the swift resolution of labour disputes, the protection of workers' rights and closer cooperation with the ministry to strengthen enforcement procedures and promote a stable and sustainable work environment.
