60 tonnes of fireworks seized in Sharjah crackdown

@ShjPolice/ X

Sixty tonnes of fireworks have been confiscated in Sharjah, as part of ongoing efforts to crack down on practices that affect public safety, especially during major events and holidays.

Following careful surveillance, Sharjah Police tracked down individuals planning to sell large quantities of fireworks illegally.

The suspects have been referred to the public prosecution.

Authorities stressed that the illegal promotion and use of fireworks poses a serious risk to public safety, causing potential injuries, accidents, property damage and disturbances to residents.

They have urged parents and community members to follow the law, educate children on the dangers of fireworks, and report any violations through the non-emergency number 901.
