The UAE has confirmed 241 new cases in the country, bringing the nation's total to 1,505.

In a briefing, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) issued the new figures.

She attributed the increase in numbers to a lack of commitment to the specified preventative measures: physical distancing and staying at home, as well as those cases related to overseas travel.

There has been one additional death, that of a 53-year-old Arab citizen suffering from chronic disease and heart failure. It takes the total number of fatalities to 10.

Seventeen patients have recovered, bringing the total to 125.
