Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the 10th edition of the 'My Health' conference has started at the University of Sharjah.

Bringing together over 36 experts in physical and mental health, sports, and nutrition.

The event features 22 keynotes, panel discussions, and workshops over two days, centered on the theme “Health and Wellbeing.”

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi and Dr. Ibtihal Fadhil, Chairperson of the Eastern Mediterranean NCD Alliance. Iman Rashid Saif, Director of the Health Promotion Department at SCFA.

The panel of experts emphasised the conference's role in shaping health policies and raising awareness on health issues, highlighting the need for a healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition and physical activity.

Key discussions focused on the impact of fast food culture and the importance of sleep for overall health.

Dr. Ahmed Mohammad Abdul Malik urged parents to prioritise home-cooked meals and limit fast food, while Prof. Hashem Adnan Al Kilani advocated for regular physical activity and stress management to enhance well-being.

The popular weight-loss jabs were also up for discussion with experts stating that they are safe when used appropriately, but many individuals are self-medicating without proper guidance with concern over the easy accessibility to them.

The conference aims to foster collaboration among institutions and promote health-conscious communities, addressing the ongoing challenges of non-communicable diseases.
