Lamar Odom 'walked out of family intervention'

Lamar Odom reportedly walked out of an attempted intervention by his family. The 36-year-old basketball star - who collapsed and almost died at a Nevada brothel last year after a drugs and alcohol binge - was not impressed when several family members tried to convince him to enter rehab at the Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center in St. Cloud, Florida. The facility has a number of drug and alcohol rehab and detox programmes and treats individuals and athletes with alcohol, drug and prescription addictions. Extra reports that Lamar's aunt JaNean Mercer, cousin Alvina Alston, ex-wife Liza Morales and children were all involved in the intervention and former Major League Baseball player Darryl joined in via Skype. However, Lamar would not take their concerns seriously and walked out. Earlier this month it was claimed that Lamar was removed from a flight for being "wasted" after he downed beers and whisky at Los Angeles International Airport. He has reportedly returned to his former ways by binge drinking more than he ever has done, leaving his estranged wife Khloé Kardashian, who nursed him back to health last year, devastated. A source previously said: "[Lamar] is back to treating his body worse than ever. "Lamar's near death experience affected a lot of people. Especially Khloé. She put her life on hold for weeks to be by Lamar's side at the hospital 24/7. It was awful for Khloé to get the phone call that Lamar had overdosed. "For days, she didn't know if he was going to make it. It infuriates her that Lamar is back to his old ways. Khloé was really hoping that the awful hospital experience would have a positive effect on Lamar, but it's really been the opposite."
