UAE-Lebanon Business Forum drives new wave of partnerships

The UAE and Lebanon are strengthening economic ties, with a new business council and four agreements signed to boost trade, investment and private-sector cooperation.

The UAE-Lebanon Business Forum in Beirut brought together government officials and business leaders from both countries.

The UAE delegation was led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade.

Dr. Tarek Mitri, Deputy Prime Minister, attended on behalf of Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

The forum focused on investment opportunities, infrastructure, reconstruction, food security, agriculture and technology, with discussions aimed at turning growing economic ties into new business partnerships.

Four memoranda of understanding were signed, including an agreement to establish the Joint UAE-Lebanon Business Council.

Another agreement between the Abu Dhabi Chamber and the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber aims to expand investment and business opportunities.

Two further agreements will support cooperation in food security, agricultural research and greenhouse technology.

The inaugural meeting of the Joint UAE-Lebanon Business Council was also held following the forum.

Members discussed plans to facilitate investment, organise sector-focused business events and remove barriers to trade between the two countries.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi said the agreements and the launch of the council will give businesses on both sides a clear platform to identify opportunities, build partnerships and invest with confidence.

The UAE and Lebanon have seen strong growth in economic ties. Bilateral non-oil trade reached $4.2 billion in 2025, up nearly 36 per cent from the previous year.

The UAE says the latest initiatives reflect its wider efforts to strengthen trade and investment partnerships across the Arab world.
