The UAE has joined 35 other countries in signing the Joint Statement on AI Opportunities during the second Pax Silica Summit in Washington, D.C., reinforcing its commitment to the responsible development of artificial intelligence.

The summit brought together governments and leading technology companies to strengthen trusted AI supply chains and develop secure digital infrastructure.

The UAE delegation was led by Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State, and included Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, alongside representatives from G42, Core42, MGX and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA).

Officials said the UAE's participation highlighted the country's growing AI ecosystem and its role as a trusted international partner in developing and deploying responsible AI technologies.

On the sidelines of the summit, the UAE held bilateral meetings with the United States and other Pax Silica members, including Qatar, Finland, India, Israel, the European Union, South Korea, Norway, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Singapore and the United Kingdom, to explore new opportunities for cooperation.

Speaking at the summit, Al Hajeri said the UAE and the United States have built a strong strategic partnership founded on shared ambitions, adding that the Pax Silica initiative provides a practical framework to deepen cooperation through investment, joint projects and trusted AI development.

The UAE said it remains committed to working with international partners to harness artificial intelligence in ways that promote innovation, strengthen trust and support sustainable economic growth.
