A number of telemarketers in the UAE have been fined after authorities discovered over 2,000 violations.
The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) confirmed it has taken "administrative actions, which includes imposing financial fines and suspending the numbers of several individuals, as more than 2,000 violations of the above mentioned resolutions have been detected."
According to Cabinet Resolutions No. 56 and 57 of 2024, individuals are prohibited from using their personal numbers for marketing purposes.
Violators face fines of 5,000 dirhams for a first violation, 20,000 dirhams for a second violation and 50,000 dirhams for third violations.
