Sharjah airport sees surge in passengers

WAM

More than four million passengers travelled through Sharjah Airport in the third quarter of 2023 to record a 12 per cent increase year-on-year.

Air traffic during the three-month period between July and September reached 26,000, while freight volume was around 35,000 tonnes, apart from more than 3,000 tonnes of sea-air freight.

The airport reported these strong figures amid its ongoing service enhancement activities and expansion project.

The Sharjah Airport Authority is also working towards covering more destinations and participating in global and regional aviation exhibitions to reinforce the airport's position.
