The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has reported their inspection teams have caught 1,077 private companies that hired 1,818 UAE nationals in an attempt to by-pass Emiratisation targets from mid-2022.

Taking to social media platform X, the ministry said practices that aim to avoid legal commitments will be dealt with firmly and according to the law.

It said companies caught violating the regulations face fines of between AED 20,000 and AED 100,000 for each case, with Nafis benefits being stopped and any benefits paid out recovered.

The Nafis programme is an initiative by the UAE government designed to enhance the employability and competitiveness of Emirati citizens.

The Ministry encourage the public to report any practices conflicting with Emiratisation policies and decisions by reaching out to the call centre at 600 590000 or using the Ministry's smart App & website.
