Half of GCC IT executives can't predict or prevent cyber attacks: report

Nearly half of the IT executives in the GCC say they can’t predict and prevent cyber-attacks, a new survey has revealed. The poll by Gulf Business Machines (GBM) also found that over 70% of companies plan to cut their IT security budgets, or keep them unchanged. The study involved 700 respondents in the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait. The firm says the results suggest that there’s still a lack of confidence in curbing online attacks among businesses. Neeraj Mathur, Manager for Security Practice at GBM is urging bosses across the region to rethink their security strategy and raise awareness.
