Flydubai releases safety guidelines for passengers

Flydubai has offered a simple guide for passengers planning to travel this summer.

This comes after the low-cost carrier announced that it will be relaunching flights from July 7 to an initial 24 destinations, which will increase to 66 destinations over summer, depending on countries being open and accepting international travel.

It has also shared simple steps for travellers to follow in order to ensure their safety.

Guidelines for visitors and tourists coming to Dubai

  • Check the visa requirements for the UAE – they are the same as they were prior to COVID-19. This includes visa on arrival for the passport holders of 47 countries
  • Purchase international travel insurance that includes health coverage
  • Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from COVID-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract COVID-19
  • Take a PCR test ahead of travel. The certificate must show a negative result and have been issued within 96 hours of arrival 
  • If it is not possible to take a PCR test ahead of travel, one can be taken on arrival at Dubai International (DXB). The passenger will need to quarantine until they receive their results. If the results are positive they must quarantine for 14 days 

Guidelines for residents returning to Dubai

  • Apply for approval to return to Dubai on the Dubai's General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) website
  • Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from COVID-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract COVID-19

Guidelines for UAE citizens and residents traveling abroad:

  • Check the IATA Travel Centre website to understand if any restrictions are in place at the destination of travel
  • Please remember that you will need to book a return ticket
  • Purchase international travel insurance that includes health coverage
  • Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from COVID-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract COVID-19

Everyone arriving at Dubai International and for the duration of their stay in Dubai must follow these steps:

  • Take a PCR test at Dubai International (unless you are able to present a negative result issued within the last 96 hours)
  • Quarantine until the results of the test have been received
  • If the results are positive for COVID-19, a 14 day quarantine period must be observed
  • Download the COVID19 - DXB Smart App (from Apple App Store or from Google Play Store) to register with the Dubai Health Authority before leaving the airport. There is free Wi-Fi available at Dubai International
  • Comply with all the precautionary COVID-19 measures in place in Dubai, including wearing a mask, observing social distancing and washing your hands regularly
