Emirates to temporarily suspend South Africa flights

Emirates Airline has announced it would temporarily suspend all flights to and from South Africa, from Saturday, due to operational reasons.

"Flights to/from South Africa will temporarily be suspended from Saturday 16th January to 28th January," the Dubai-based carrier said in a statement.

The last flights to the three South African gateways will be on January 15 as per the schedule below:

  • Dubai‑Cape Town: EK772/15JAN
  • Dubai‑Johannesburg‑Durban: EK775/15JAN
  • Dubai‑Johannesburg: EK763/15JAN

Customers holding tickets with final destinations in South Africa from January 16-28 will not be accepted for travel at their point of origin.

The airline said affected customers should contact their travel agent or Emirates contact centre for rebooking options.
