Emirates is marking a major milestone today with the delivery of its first Airbus A350 aircraft.
The A6-EXA is the first of 65 A350s that will join the airline’s fleet in the coming years. It’s also the first new aircraft type to be added to Emirates' fleet since 2008.
The aircraft was officially handed over on Monday morning and was scheduled to embark on its ferry flight from Toulouse to Dubai at 4:00 PM (local time). Aviation enthusiasts can track the flight live on Flight Radar 24.
Once in Dubai, the aircraft will receive its finishing touches at Emirates Engineering before being officially unveiled at a special event later this week.
The delivery flight was powered by a blend of jet fuel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The A350 will enter commercial service in January, with its debut flight to Edinburgh, followed by eight other destinations across the Middle East, West Asia and Europe.
