The Emirates Group has achieved record profit of AED 22.7 billion for 2024-25, with Emirates reporting the best result in its history to become the world’s most profitable airline.

It places the Emirates Group as the most profitable aviation group globally in the 2024-25 reporting period, highlighted Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates airline and Group.

"Dubai's approach has created successful, home-grown aviation and air services entities that are admired internationally," Sheikh Ahmed said, adding that it "reinforces Dubai’s position as a global aviation powerhouse that continues to deliver sustained growth, and contributes meaningfully to both Dubai and the global economy".

Both Emirates and dnata contributed record annual revenues, as the Group expanded its operations around the world to meet growing demand.

According to the data released, Emirates Group's annual profits for the financial year ended March 31, marked a 18 per cent year-on-year increase to touch AED 22.7 billion.

Meanwhile, annual revenue touched AED 145.4 billion, marking a six per cent year-on-year increase. Cash assets touched AED 53.4 billion, recording a 13 per cent y-o-y increase.

Emirates Airline reported record profit of AED 21.2 billion, marking 20 per cent increase from last year.

Meanwhile, the airline recorded revenue of AED 127.9 billion, an increase of 6 per cent over last year, and highest-ever level of cash assets at AED 49.7 billion, marking 16 per cent higher compared to March 31, 2024.

dnata also delivered solid growth and performance across its business units, reporting profit of AED 1.6 billion, up 2 per cent from last year. It also reported record revenue of AED 21.1 billion, up 10 per cent, and strong cash assets of AED 3.7 billion.

After accounting for the 9 per cent UAE corporate tax, introduced in 2023, the Group’s profit after tax is AED 20.5 billion.

The Group’s total workforce also grew by 9 per cent to 121,223 employees, its largest size ever, as Emirates and dnata continued recruitment activity around the world to support its expanding operations and boost its future capabilities.

Commenting on the outlook for 2025-26, Sheikh Ahmed said: “We enter the year ahead with excitement and optimism. Our excellent financial standing enables us to continue building on and scaling up from our successful business models. While some markets are jittery about trade and travel restrictions, volatility is not new in our industry. We simply adapt and navigate around these challenges.

“Emirates will strengthen our network connectivity with the expected delivery of 16 A350s and 4 Boeing 777 freighters in 2025-26, providing much-needed capacity to meet customer demand. Our retrofit programme will continue apace to provide our customers the latest Emirates products and a more consistent experience across our A380, 777 and A350 fleet."
