WAM

Bilateral trade between the Netherlands and Dubai registered a 56 per cent growth in the last ten years (2011-2020).

The value of trade jumped from AED 5.5 billion in 2011 to AED 8.6 billion in 2020. Last year imports amounted to AED 3.7 billion, while exports and re-exports accounted for the rest.

The figures were revealed on the sidelines of a virtual meeting between Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, and a Dutch delegation headed by Hans Sandee, Consul General for Netherlands to Dubai.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation and trade ties.

Musabih said there are 140 Dutch companies working in Dubai. He also highlighted Dubai Customs' efforts in deploying the latest technologies in serving the business sector.

Sandee thanked Dubai Customs for its cooperation with the Dutch diplomatic and business sectors.
