The Arab Monetary Fund will mark its Golden Jubilee in Abu Dhabi on September 28, alongside the 17th Ordinary Session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers.
The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Finance, will host the session.
The official celebration will trace the Arab Monetary Fund’s journey since its establishment in 1976, highlighting its evolution into one of the leading institutions of joint Arab action.
It will highlight the Fund’s role in strengthening Arab economic and monetary cooperation, supporting financial stability, and developing the banking and financial sectors across member states.
During the meeting, the Council of Arab Finance Ministers will also discuss key fiscal priorities facing the region.
Topics will include fiscal conditions and policy approaches in Arab countries, as well as the growing use of artificial intelligence in fiscal policy and public finance.
Delegates will also consider a World Bank Group paper on sustainable finance for sustainable infrastructure, along with an OECD presentation on the latest developments in implementing the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting, or BEPS, measures.
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, described the anniversary as a historic milestone for joint Arab financial action.
He said the UAE’s hosting of the event reflects the country’s continued commitment to supporting Arab institutions and strengthening regional financial cooperation.
Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs, said the Golden Jubilee reflects five decades of contribution to Arab economies and marks a new chapter focused on sustainable finance, digital innovation and artificial intelligence.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, the Arab Monetary Fund works to promote Arab economic and monetary integration, support financial and monetary stability, and provide financial and technical assistance to its member states.
