Abu Dhabi airport records passenger traffic rise

Abu Dhabi International Airport welcomed 2.3 million passengers in August – a 2.3 per cent rise on figures from the same month last year. The bulk of travellers came from India, the UK, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Total aircraft movements at the air hub fell by 2.4 per cent, while cargo volume fell by 3 per cent. The airport is undergoing extensive development costing billions of dirhams to enable it to accommodate more than 45 million passengers.
