Will.I.am to launch project similar to Amazon's 'Alexa' in the UAE

Will.I.am has launched his latest project in Dubai – but it’s not a new album.

The music star is in emirate to unveil a deal between his artificial intelligence company I.AM+ and Majid Al Futtaim, the retail giant behind City Centre malls and Carrefour supermarkets.

Speaking to ARN at the World Government Summit, he explained why the UAE is so important.

Majid Al Futtaim will use the Omega voice assistant developed by I.AM+ across the Middle East, in English and Arabic.

It works similarly to Apple's Siri or Amazon's Alexa - but developers say it is less robotic and more 'human-like' .
