The World Sports Summit has opened in Dubai, bringing together more than 1,500 sports leaders, policymakers and athletes from around the world.
The two-day event at Madinat Jumeirah features 70 speakers and is themed 'Uniting the World Through Sport', exploring how sports intersect with global economic, social and cultural trends.
Speaking at the opening, Dubai Sports Council's Vice Chairman Khalfan Belhoul said the summit reflects the UAE’s vision of serving as a global platform for international cooperation.
He emphasised Dubai’s role in attracting entrepreneurs and athletes while addressing challenges in the international sporting sector.
Belhoul added that this summit marks the start of a long-term collaborative effort to enhance the global development of sports and its impact on society.
