UAE's Al Kamali to lead FIFA World Cup disciplinary committee

WAM

Emirati legal expert and Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, Mohammed Al Kamali, will lead the Disciplinary Committee for the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The appointment is seen as further recognition of the growing influence of Emirati talent within international sports organisations.

Al Kamali will oversee disciplinary matters during the tournament, which will be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and is set to be the largest World Cup in history, featuring 104 matches.

He welcomed the appointment, describing it as both a great honour and a significant responsibility.

Al Kamali said managing disciplinary matters across three host countries and more than a hundred matches will require the highest levels of efficiency, accuracy and professionalism.

He also expressed pride in representing the UAE on the global stage, saying the appointment reflects the country's continued investment in developing national talent and supporting Emiratis in leadership roles within international institutions.
