via WAM

The UAE national football team will meet Kyrgyzstan on Thursday at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, in the fifth round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Throughout their history, the UAE national team has met Kyrgyzstan in only two matches, the first was in the 2019 Asian Cup in the UAE, in which the UAE won 3-2, while the second was a friendly last year, in which the UAE won 1-0.

The UAE ranks third in its group with four points, behind Iran and Uzbekistan, both of which have ten points, while Qatar comes fourth on goal difference from our national team, followed by Kyrgyzstan with three points, then North Korea with two points.

The Emirati team had a training camp at New York University Stadium on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, in preparation for the anticipated match, and the match against the brotherly Qatari team in the sixth round next Tuesday at Al Nahyan Stadium.
