UAE teams gear up for AFC Champions League playoffs

Two UAE teams are in action in the AFC Champions League playoffs on Tuesday evening.

Dubai side Shabab Al Ahli take on Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr in Riyadh at 9:20 pm.

Elsewhere, Sharjah FC are in Iran to face Tractor SC with kick-off scheduled at 8:00 pm in Tabriz.

The 21st edition of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s flagship club competition will run from September 2023 to May 2024.

Of the 40 participating teams, the berths of 32 contenders have been confirmed while the remaining eight slots will be occupied by the winners from the playoff stage, which features 16 teams.

The draw for the group stage takes place in Kuala Lumpur on August 24.
