The UAE launched their Arabian Gulf Cup campaign in emphatic fashion, defeating Yemen 4-0 in their Group B opener at King Abdullah Sport City Stadium in Jeddah.
Nicolás Giménez opened the scoring in the 26th minute before a Yemen own goal doubled the UAE's advantage ten minutes later.
Luan Pereira added a third in first-half stoppage time to put the match beyond doubt.
Giménez completed his brace six minutes after the restart, heading home the UAE's fourth goal to cap a dominant display.
The victory moves the UAE to the top of Group B on three points.
Attention now turns to the group's other fixture, where reigning AFC Asian Cup champions Qatar face defending Arabian Gulf Cup holders Bahrain.
