Godolphin's Thunder Snow romped home to victory and into the history books to win the world's richest horse race for the second time in a row.

Retaining the title at the 24th edition of the $12 million Dubai World Cup, the five-year-old bay colt, trained by Saeed bin Suroor and ridden by Christophe Soumillon, became the first horse ever to win the prestigious event twice.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received the winner's cup from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
