The 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended "until further notice".

That's according to an announcement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which said said all parties involved had agreed that the tournament "will only commence when it is safe and appropriate to do so".

They added that the "health and safety of the nation and everyone involved in our great sport remains our top priority".

The Twenty20 cricket league, which was originally due to start on March 29, was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
