Fowler: 'I belong with Spieth and McIlroy at the top of world golf'

Three of the biggest stars in golf will go head-to-head at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship this weekend. World No1 Jordan Spieth and world No3 Rory McIlroy headline the 11th edition of the tournament while Rickie Fowler, ranked fifth in the world rankings, returns after making his UAE debut last year. Unlike his two cohorts, Fowler is yet to win a Major title, but he insists he deserves to be held in the same regard as compatriot Spieth and last year's Race to Dubai winner McIlroy. "I may not be ranked as high as them but I'm close. A Major would help me become a solid part of the talk," said Fowler, whose biggest win to date was The Players Championship last year. "I'm looking forward to going up against those boys and having a great time. We're all good buddies so it's going to be a fun walk the first two days. "I want to see those guys play well as I feel it brings out the best in me. It would be fun to feed off each other and bring out the best in us all."
