FIFA President tests positive for COVID-19

Gianni Infantino, the President of football's governing body FIFA, has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The 50-year-old Swiss national is said to be displaying mild symptoms and has placed himself in self-isolation for at least the next 10 days.

In a statement, the organisation said, "FIFA president Gianni Infantino has contracted COVID-19."

Those who have come in contact with Infantino over the past few days have been informed about the situation to allow them to "take the necessary steps."
