Expo2020 Dubai has announced its sponsorship of the 2022 Camel Racing Festival in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to celebrate the connecting power of sport and spotlight a rich Emirati tradition.

Mohamed AlAnsaari, Vice President - Communications, Expo2020 Dubai, said: “Expo 2020 Dubai is proud to be sponsoring the Camel Racing Festival in Dubai and Abu Dhabi this year. Sport is an important connecting point across communities, and our involvement in these races allows us another opportunity to connect with our Emirati audience and highlight the unique mix of cultural, educational and sporting experiences on offer at Expo2020 Dubai.

“We look forward to working with the UAE Camel Association and Dubai Camel Racing Club and to delighting our home audiences even more in the final two months of Expo2020 Dubai.”

The Expo 2020 Dubai Camel Racing Festival begins on Saturday, 29 January and runs until 2 February. It will see several events across the Al Marmoum Camel Race track in Dubai and the Al Wathba track in Abu Dhabi, with races open to the public and screened on the Dubai Racing Channel and YAS Channel.

Prizes for race winners will be presented at Expo 2020 Dubai during a ceremony to be held at a later date at Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre. In addition, branding for Expo2020 Dubai will appear on tracks, flags and banners during the festival.

Expo2020 Dubai celebrates the UAE’s rich traditions, and camel racing has been included in the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation’s (UNESCO) Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Expo2020 runs until 31 March 2022, inviting visitors from around the world to join the making of a new world and experience a six-month journey of human creativity, innovation, progress and culture.
