Ethiopians register clean sweep at Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon

Ethiopia have once again dominated at the 2016 Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon. Their runners took all three podium positions in the men's and the women's race. Outsider Tesfaye Abera Dibaba smashed his personal best by over five minutes to win the 42 km stretch in 02:04:24, nine seconds ahead of second-placed Lemi Berhanu Hayle. Their compatriot Tirfi Tsegaye Bayene won the women's race in 02:19:41. The Dubai Marathon is the richest in the world, with a prize money offering of $1 million.
