Dubai Basketball’s impressive four-game winning streak came to a halt on Sunday night, as they were defeated 82-61 by ABA League leaders and EuroLeague powerhouse, Partizan Mozzart, in Serbia.
Jurica Golemac’s team entered the matchup hoping to hand Partizan their first loss of the season, but despite a strong start, they were unable to hold off the home side.
Partizan, led by former NBA player Carlik Jones – who scored 17 points – extended their perfect record to 8-0, powered by a passionate home crowd.
Dubai began the game on the front foot, leading by 3 points after the first quarter. However, the turning point came in the second, as Partizan tightened their defence, limiting Dubai to just 8 points.
Despite the setback, Dubai fought back in the second half, closing the gap to just 6 points with four minutes left on the clock but couldn’t complete the comeback, eventually falling short with a final score of 82-61.
The loss leaves Dubai with a 6-2 record, just two points behind Partizan in the standings, with a rematch already in the works for later in the season.
After a challenging stretch of three away games, Dubai Basketball will return home to the Coca-Cola Arena for their next match, hosting Slovenia’s Krka on Sunday, November 17, at 7:00 PM.
