Real Madrid and Manchester City have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League. Madrid beat Paris Saint Germain 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu, thanks to a first half goal from Nacho, who pounced on a deflection to slot home. Former Galactico, Angel di Maria, almost equalised a minute later, but his free-kick struck the woodwork. The result leaves Madrid top of Group A, three points clear of PSG, who are themselves four points ahead of both Shaktar Donetsk, who beat Malmo 4-0. Manchester City confirmed their qualification from the Group D with an impressive 3-1 at Europa League winners, Sevilla. Raheem Sterling put the visitors ahead after just eight minutes, finishing from a tight angle. A header from Fernandinho soon doubled their lead, before Benoit Tremoulinas pulled one back for the hosts. However, Wilfried Bony retored City two-goal cushion, converting a cross from Jesus Navas. In the group’s other game, Juventus drew 1-1 at Borussia Monchengladbach. Meanwhile, Manchester United ended their recent goal drought as they beat CSKA Moscow 1-0.
