Beach Games Festival kicks off in Dubai

Starting Thursday, Dubai will host two international championships and several beach competitions.

The Beach Games Festival, which starts with yoga and badminton events on October 20 at Kite Beach in Umm Suqeim, will run until November 6.

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council with FIFA’s Beach Soccer Committee, the 11th Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup is scheduled from November 1 to 6 with eight national teams participating.

Four matches are scheduled on the first day of the Championship - USA will play Japan at 4:00 pm, UAE will take on Spain at 5:15 pm, Saudi Arabia will face Brazil at 6:45 pm and Paraguay will take on Iran at 8:00 pm.

Meanwhile, the World Beach Volleyball Pro Tour will take place from October 22 until October 30 and will see male and female players from various continents play 266 matches.
