UAE sprinter Arwa Ali has won silver in the women’s 100 metres at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
Ali clocked 11.41 seconds to finish second behind Nigeria’s Rosemary Nwankwo, who won gold in 11.16. Qatar’s Dana Salem took bronze in 11.48.
The result takes the UAE’s official medal tally to two, with one gold and one silver.
Ali had already enjoyed a strong year after winning 100m gold at the Bahrain 2025 Asian Youth Games in 11.45 seconds.
Elsewhere, Saeed Omar and Aisha Mohammed qualified for the men’s and women’s 400m finals respectively.
Riyan Malhan previously secured the UAE’s first official Youth Olympic gold medal by winning the boys’ singles badminton title.
UAE equestrian Alya Almheiri also won gold as part of Team Asia in the continental team event, although that competition sits outside the official Youth Olympic medal programme.
