The UAE and Azerbaijan held the second meeting of their Strategic Partnership Cooperation Committee in Baku on Wednesday, with both sides reviewing progress in bilateral relations and plans to expand cooperation across key sectors.

The meeting was co-chaired by Saeed Al Hajeri, UAE Minister of State, and Yalchin Rafiyev, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, and attended by senior officials from both countries.

Officials said the discussions reflected the close ties between the UAE and Azerbaijan and their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation through a long-term institutional framework aimed at delivering sustainable results.

Both sides reviewed progress made under their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and discussed ways to deepen collaboration in political and diplomatic affairs, economic cooperation, defence, law enforcement, education, culture, advanced technology, energy and sustainability.

They also followed up on the implementation of the 2025 to 2029 roadmap and a number of priority joint projects.

Saeed Al Hajeri said the meeting reflected the continued growth in relations between the two countries and marked an important step towards greater coordination and integration across areas of mutual interest.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from several UAE ministries and organisations, including the Ministries of Defence, Justice, Economy and Tourism, Climate Change and Environment, and Energy and Infrastructure, as well as Abu Dhabi Ports, Mubadala, Masdar, Dragon Oil and other major national entities.
