Three tourists killed in boat capsize off Oman coast

Three French tourists were killed when a boat capsized off the coast of Oman, the Royal Oman Police said on Tuesday in a post on X.

The boat, carrying 25 people including a group of French tourists, a tour guide and the captain, was 2.5 nautical miles from Sultan Qaboos Port in the Gulf of Oman when it capsized.

In addition to those killed, two tourists sustained minor injuries.

In a statement, Oman’s Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences and deepest sympathy to the government and people of France, as well as to the families of the victims, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The ministry added that investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the incident.
