The State of Palestine has submitted a request to hold an extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent delegates as soon as possible.
This is to discuss Arab and international action in light of the continuing Israeli threats to invade the city of Rafah, which is home to more than 1.5 million displaced people and Palestinian citizens.
In addition to Israel’s intransigence and refusal to implement Security Council resolutions related to the ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, the latest of which is Resolution No. 2728, calling for an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan.
