Oil tanker capsizes off Omani coast

A Camorian-flagged oil tanker has capsized off the coast of Oman, 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madrakah, Wilayat Duqum on Monday.

Oman’s Maritime Security Centre said a search-and-rescue operation is underway, in coordination with the local authorities. The tanker, identified as "Prestige Falcon," was carrying 13 Indian and three Sri Lankan crew members, the Centre said on Tuesday. They added a search-and-rescue operation is ongoing.

The vessel was reportedly en route to Yemen's Aden Port, with its position last updated at 01:05 local time (UCT+4) on Monday, according to Maritime Traffic. 

The cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed by authorities.
